BJJ Basics: Closed Guard Arm Drag to Back

Here are some basic concepts that we went over during our class the other night. I hope you guys find some of these concepts for Jiu-Jitsu pressure helpful. These are concepts that I use during my training and competitions. While many positions and techniques in jiu-jitsu can be found in other grappling arts, the de la Riva guard was an original creation of jiu-jitsu.

In this video De la Riva describes the origins of the guard that now bears his name, and he shows us how to make the position even more effective by avoiding common mistakes.
