Finishing Head And Arm Chokes!

How often do we get the head and arm choke on and your training partner taps and they say ‘oh man, that cranked my neck’. Now we training in Jiu-Jitsu to, where ever possible, get the best possible choke. And really don’t want to hurt our training partners with a cranked neck. The big question, therefore is, how do you know or how do you make sure it really is a legit choke, not a neck crank. Watch this video guys where I cover this in some details. The Easiest Way To Escape Mount

In Jiu-Jitsu being stuck in mount might be the worst position to be stuck. Yesterday, I released a video where I discussed an easy and simple escape from side control. How To Reset Back Control

It’s really easy to take and keep the back of a brand new beginner. But someone that has skill and experience – that’s a different story. The answer usually is to finish as quickly and as aggressively as possible. Put as much energy into finishing as they are in escaping. This alone should increase your chances. But what happens if you haven’t or just can’t finish quickly and they start themselves down the escape path. Well, you just reset. Get That Guillotine – Use The Chin Strap

Butterfly Sweep Into A 411

This is a great little butterfly hook sweep. That moves you into a dominant position. I demonstrate this for the white belts. But for the more advanced belts – we can use the butterfly hook sweep that sets up a 411 position and as with yesterdays submission – a Texas Cloverleaf! Awesome. What awesome fun. All we have to do is sneak our leg back over theirs during the sweep and then pull your opponent back over you…well, you will get what I mean when you watch the video. Quarter Guard Backstep – Into A Pass Or The Texas Cloverleaf

Hi guys, this video is from a class at the very end of 2017. It was a hot Australian day and I thought we would cover a topic on getting caught in a quarter guard – right when you are passing your opponents guard. Now normally, for many guys, this will only slow them down not stop them. But if the person that has you in quarter guard is experienced and has an underhook…well that might be a different question altogether. So, let’s change it up a bit and instead of pressing forward. Take a step back. Perhaps a metaphor for life! And now you can turn that awkward guard pass into something completely different – the Texas Cloverleaf!
