Dima Murovanni explains how he first met Jozef Chen and how that led to him becoming the well-known coach he is today.
Dima Murovanni is one of the most popular European Jiu-Jitsu coaches right now and he has coached multiple ADCC Trials winners across 2023 and 2024. Dima also served as the head coach for B-Team Jiu-Jitsu during their training camp for CJI and ADCC 2024, and will be returning to run more in 2025.
Jits Magazine spoke to Dima about how he first got started in the sport, and his chance encounter with Jozef Chen that ultimately led to him diving into coaching. He also shared some insight into how he structured that training camp for ADCC 2024 and CJI, and explained his emphasis on heart-rate monitoring. Dima also evaluated the amazing performances of Nicky and Jacob Rodriguez, and broke down his new style of passing; Rumble passing.

I recently saw an interview with professional Jiu-Jitsu athlete and member of “B-Team,” Nicky Ryan. Nicky Ryan and “The B-Team” were on episode 363 of @lexfridman podcast and they were discussing his knee injuries. Nicky explained his rationale for not fixing his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and how he has continued to train without this ligament in the knee.
I go through some ideas on the purpose of the ACL, my recommendations on whether you should have surgery to repair your ACL, some myths and facts about what can happen to your knee if you do or don’t get the ACL fixed, ideas on BJJ longevity, rehab, and prehab.
I also discuss a research article with some interesting ideas on what happens to your knee when you sustain an injury such as the ACL and whether having surgery can decrease the risk of arthritis in the knee.
