One thing that you learn very quickly when you enter a Jiu-Jitsu Academy for the first time and start rolling with experienced practitioners. You get tapped quickly, often and seemingly with ease. It’s frustrating and massively ego depleting. So much so that very few attend the next class. That’s a pity. Because, Jiu-Jitsu, if you allow it – will change your life for the positive. No matter who you are and what your life circumstances. Now having said that being tapped is no fun. Particularly if you don’t know why. So, in this video, I would like to lay out 3 simple tips that will help you not make the usual beginner mistakes that will get you tapped. 4 Awesome Attacks From Shin To Shin

Shin to shin is a really cool guard and I think it has become increasingly necessary as many grapplers are incredibly proficient at placing one leg between yours and then sliding their knee through in a knee through pass. This might happen on say, 70% of the time. So, it’s a good idea to think about a way to prevent this. One such way is to place your shin against theirs. In this video, I discuss how to take this shin to shin position and move into an attacking position. It’s a lot easier than it looks. There is reward with careful viewing guys. Counter The Over Under Pass!

Armbar Hack To Take The Back!

I’ve done a number of videos on how to break the armbar from that training partner that just won’t give in. But let’s say you do all those moves and perhaps he is still just too strong, or maybe you are just too tired or it’s just not going to be an armbar day. It happens. But don’t give in. Because often you can go from armbar to being held in side control very quickly. And that’s the worst-case scenario. What we want to do is be in a position to continue the fight. Finishing Head And Arm Chokes!

How often do we get the head and arm choke on and your training partner taps and they say ‘oh man, that cranked my neck’. Now we training in Jiu-Jitsu to, where ever possible, get the best possible choke. And really don’t want to hurt our training partners with a cranked neck. The Easiest Way To Escape Mount

How To Reset Back Control

It’s really easy to take and keep the back of a brand new beginner. But someone that has skill and experience – that’s a different story. The answer usually is to finish as quickly and as aggressively as possible. Put as much energy into finishing as they are in escaping. This alone should increase your chances. But what happens if you haven’t or just can’t finish quickly and they start themselves down the escape path. Well, you just reset.
