@shaan_brar is about 6’. I am 5’4” (with shoes on 😂) and am wearing my standard uniform. Shaan started about 15’ away and I told him to run at me and try and cut my head off. I used my first generation SIRT pistol so you can see where the shots were going (look for the green laser). DATA: On average I was able to get at least three headshots by the conclusion of the first swing without getting cut. We choose an environment similar to a hallway because of how hard it is to get off of the X without trading cuts for shots. CONCLUSION/TAKEAWAYS: Even though I am much shorter than Shaan the wedges that my legs created on his hips prevented him from reaching my face/neck. Since we often have stuff in our hands like guns, folks like Sgt @dongulla do not teach officers to slap the mats during backfalls as traditionally done in #judo or jiujitsu. Lastly, if possible keep the back of your duty belt clear! An added bonus was that the rounds were in a direction that was safe for the other folks in the background. I also did not consider how an OODA loop reset could also give me a little more time. Bottom line is everything works and everything fails. If you cannot replicate a solution consistently in training with resistance, how can you rely on it for real? Huge thank you to Shaan for helping with this. 🙏🏽🥋🚔🤙🏽 #bellevue #police #graciesurvivaltactics #selfdefense #jiujitsu #trainweeklyorfightweakly #protectbellevuedotcom
