He's contradictory, jiujitsu has evolved so much over the years, the techniques have changed and are taught differently, there's been so much innovation and progression created by brilliant minds. I'm sure berimbolos, worm guard, matrix, leg locks, lapel attacks, inverted guards, imanari rolls ect. Were not around in the 80s/90s these moves are under modern jiujitsu category.

  9. Roger Gracie beat the best of every generation with progressive jiujitsu (from one position to a more advantageous position). His technique is perfect and his jiujitsu always shows it. If you don’t believe me ask Marcus Buchecha. Mauricio is right the technique is the same the generation is what changes.

  10. The age old argument……Rickson or Rolls? I believe Rolls was about 6 or 7 years older than Rickson. Rickson said in an interview that by the time he was a black belt at age 18 or 19, Rolls could no longer defeat him. I would say Rickson #1, Rolls #2.
