Reverse Seat Belt – Knee Bump Back Take

Reverse Seat Belt - Knee Bump Back Take

This is a move I picked up from Gordon Ryan in his third match with rival Felipe Pena. It’s a clever use of the opponent’s force against themselves, as we use the trapped knee to bump the opponent across our body with our same side hand pushing his butt for an assist.

As you are pushing them across your body, you let your body follow that motion and post your free elbow on the ground – hitting a technical stand up of sorts. Then we go into chasing their hips and attacking their back. Depending on how much fight they give, the scrambles can vary. If they don’t resist much, it might just be a simple sweep to half guard. If they try to scramble away to avoid the sweep, they can give you their back.
