One of my favorite things about work is periodically getting to demonstrate the effectiveness of the art to our #community and how it keeps everyone safer.
I was 4 years into my LE career and in my 30’s when I started the journey and now I can’t imagine being stuck on my back and not knowing what to do. Ideally we’d have training on duty but most departments don’t have the funding or subject matter experts to pull that off. Never too late to start! Many schools let you try a class for free and great nonprofits like @adoptacopbjj are available for us too. Main thing is the school vibe is positive and safe. I’m far from the best practitioner, but I try to represent the art as best as I can. 🥋🤙🏽 #police #jiujitsu #selfdefense #graciesurvivaltactics #fitness #aiea #oahugrown #trainweeklyorfightweakly
