New BJJ Coach Worried about Burn Out & Losing Passion for Jiu-jitsu

New BJJ Coach Worried about Burn Out & Losing Passion for Jiu-jitsu

Today we’ve got a question from Shawn, who was recently offered a coaching position at his gym.

The problem is this…

He’s apprehensive about accepting the job because he fears that this coaching situation will rob him of his passion for Jiu-Jitsu.

He essentially doesn’t want BJJ to be his “job”.

He was offered to coach 1 day a week and asked how I do BJJ, but don’t turn it into work or don’t let it burn me out.

This question comes up a ton, I’ve been teaching BJJ full time since 2010, I love it, enjoy doing it, and it wasn’t easy.

I’ll share 1 of my biggest reasons for choosing this occupation and what keeps me around.

I’ll also dive deeper into this idea of internal and external rewards that come from this line of work and hopefully, if you’re a BJJ coach in the making, then you found this video helpful.

Thanks for watching.
