My good friend and firearms coach @buliwyf_actual let me use a spare belt and training holster so I could beat on it and see how it holds up. In addition to getting in some sparring in uniform, I did 3 sets of the following while hanging onto the holster with a training gun: 10 pullups, 10 seconds of pulling with some momentum, and 10 seconds of hanging from just the grip. Total time under tension about 1 minute 30 seconds. This is the fourth time I have done this sequence since May, so the total time under tension for the gear is about 6 minutes.
I used a @safarilandgroup belt, Safariland holster (6360RDS ALS/SLS), Safariland UBL mid-ride, and a QLS fork and receiver. Also installed was a Negative Cant Plate (NCP) by @the_theory_police / @blackboxcustoms_ and it was all held together by Safariland OEM factory bolts.
I did some draws afterwards and everything appeared to be intact from the belt buckle to the retentions and the NCP. Having said that, Anthony said that the cumulative effect would eventually break it. However, it is reassuring to know the various parts were able to handle what I did. Iโll keep at it and let you guys know if or when anything breaks. ๐๐ฝ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฝ #bellevue #police #weaponretention #jiujitsu #trainweeklyorfightweakly #graciesurvivaltactics #selfdefense #fitness #pullups #oahugrown #aiea
