My favorite arm-bar defense break.
.
This is my go-to move when it comes to breaking the defense of the armbar. It works on 90% of the grip and it works on stronger opponent.
.
Basically, you do some sort of an americana (key lock) on him, your opponent releases the grip because of the lock or because of the pain on his forearm.
.
I have to keep my chest pinned to his elbow every step of the way (if you don’t he can spin out of it and get his elbow to the mat). One hand grabs my shin (it needs to “wait” near the wrist for the other hand) and the other hand pins his elbow as low as possible (on his stomach or on your own thigh) and slide through the elbow and grab my on hand that is pinned to his wrist (with a gable grip). As in an americana, for maximum leverage, I need to get a really wide grip. My elbow pushes his elbow and my other hand pulls next to his wrist. If my 2 elbows are too close together, I won’t be able to twist his arm. On top of the twist and pull with my arms, I lay down to the side of his wrist and pull with my body weight. Once his grip is broken, I need to change the grip and twist his hand to the other direction (to his hips) to prevent the hitchhiker escape from here (if you don’t the pull and twist is giving the escape as a gift).
.
I’ll try to make an instructional video with the proper details for my next video.
