Marcelo Garcia is one of the biggest legends in the history of Jiu-Jitsu, with four ADCC world titles and five IBJJF world titles in his career. He is one of a tiny handful of grapplers to be inducted into both the ADCC and IBJJF Halls of Fame, and he’s renowned for his success in the absolute division despite being a lighter competitor.
Jits Magazine spoke to Marcelo about the toughest tests of his career and the reason he stepped away from competition in 2011, before discussing his scheduled return against Masakazu Imanari at ONE 170. Marcelo also opened up about his return to training after his battle with Cancer, and his recent experience of opening a brand new academy in Hawaii.
