I’ve been training with kettlebells since ~2010 and this is the first ever time I’ve done double kettlebell front squats. That being said, I know the importance of squats.

My focus has primarily been on weighted pistol squats and like triple extension, squatting should form a fundamental part of any strength program, for any land based sport. We all love big arms, but our lower still drives the vast majority of our movements. Even for BJJ, don’t neglect the lower body.

It’s good to use different variations in your squats, but the exercise you choose, bodyweight, kettlebell, weights or otherwise, is less important than constantly training the MOVEMENT. Any exercise is only as good as it’s application to solve a particular problem.
