Inverted heel hook vs cyborg in 2017 adcc absolute. Everyone always complains about me fighting guys smaller than me, but if you actually do 10 seconds of research, youll see that over 90% of my opponents are the same size or bigger. I was 194 here and cyborg was around 230lbs. Notice the subtle trick i played on him. after the initial irimi ashi entrance, i played a game where my left foot was on top of his left leg, making him believe that i wanted to keep his lower leg pinned. here, you see him willingly lift his left leg up to pummel over my bottom leg, essentially putting himself in a double trouble inside sankaku. The next battle is the battle of height. My goal is to sit him to his butt and take the weight off of his knees. Notice how i use a very specific directionality of force. I push in the direction in which he has no base of support, out towards his right hip, as opposed to his left hand, making it easy to sit him down. next is to make a switch from controlling his secondary leg, to a grip on the heel. Notice my hands monitoring his secondary (right) leg as i fish for the heel. Moments after this (the video was over a minute long and i didnt want to do an ig tv) he extended his primary (left) leg and basically exposed his own heel, before conceding the tap. A very primitive cross ashi finish which wouldn’t really be working on today’s athletes, as the leg lock game (thankfully) has evolved. hope you guys enjoyed 😃
