#FBF to a great battle at @f2wbjj December 2018 with the beast @hingerbjj. Going for Kimuras in the bottom of half guard is something I shy away from in the 🥋, but in NoGi without the grips & friction available, I’m all for it. The key is to only think about separating their arm from their body & not overwhelm yourself trying to put it behind their back right away. Notice how I circle my left leg inside & use it against his head. That helps me break his posture & create a wedge so I can use my whole body to pull his arm out.

Josh was forced to roll but he reacted very well by inserting his butterfly hook in right away & clearing his elbow out of the lock, this can set him up for a potential back take & that is why I chose to let go & get head control.

The Kimura is one of the most versatile submissions & happens to be one of my favorites & strongest. I believe everyone should have the Kimura in their game. Maybe it’s time for a new Lovato Kimura series…🤔
