In response to some discussion I’ve seen on
r/BJJ and that we have been talking about in class recently.
This will teach you how to not only protect yourself and your knees from the 50/50 guard, but also how to stand up and escape the position safely.
A lot of people are really nervous about leg locks or feel that they are too dangerous, it it’s usually just a simple adjustment that makes it happen for you and turns you into the offensive player instead of the deer in the headlights.
Also, it’s important to note that when things are going at competition speed they have to be done correctly. Just because you’ve done it in the gym a certain way many times doesn’t mean it’s a safe or technically efficient movement. Often times, it’s our opponent’s kindness or lack of technical prowess that keeps us from getting injured.
Be smart and train safe kids. I learned most of this stuff the hard way. Ha ha
Enjoy the beautiful scenery here in Costa Rica 🇨🇷
