So, today, we’ve got a question from Matt, a 4-stripe white belt and a big boy who says he prefers pressure passing.
He says he’s experiencing an obstacle though.
According to his coaches, he’s not using as much pressure as he could, and the main reason is that he’s worried about hurting his training partners.
He doesn’t use pressure, explosiveness, or dynamic movements because he’s the big guy in the room. He’s worried this makes him overly defensive, passive, and soft.
He asked what the best way was to change his thinking about going hard, upping the intensity, and lowering the injury risk while training Jiu-Jitsu as a bigger person.
I’ll give you guys a couple ideas to chew on when in relation to being a big guy doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a room full of smaller training partners.
Hopefully, you find them helpful.
Thanks for watching.
