Fight Off Chronic Injuries in BJJ Before They Start!

Fight Off Chronic Injuries in BJJ Before They Start!

I recently received a question from Madison about a chronic injury she is having that is caused by repetitive motions during here BJJ training.

Basically, she’s playing the same positions and using the same techniques over and over again and they are causing the pain and issues she’s dealing with.

In this video I compare the body to a machine. And like a machine our bodies are in a constant state of wearing down.

I say this not to be negative, but to encourage people to be intelligent with the way that they wear their bodies down.

And one of the most helpful things I can share is just like we rotate the tires on our car to help even the wear and tear.

In our Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training. We need to try and spread the damage to other body parts.

So if you’re playing Spider Guard during your rolling and you find your fingers hurting constantly. You may find it smart to move to another position that doesn’t cause the same type of pain.

If you find that your hands are getting torn up from the Gi. You might move to No Gi for a while.

Get the idea?

This has been one of the easiest ways for me to work around injuries instead of trying to work through them.

Enjoy the video!
