Do ever struggle with people smashing you in a really tight guard passing position? Think, body lock passing, tight half guard passing, etc. Of course, right? It happens to everyone. Well here’s a simple, but powerful, chin grip that could be a game changer for you and your BJJ in these positions.
I learned this by having a smaller competitor (around 160 or so) use it against me. I remember it disrupted my guard passing positions even when I was super tight. I then started using it during my training and enjoy it when I’m rolling up against some of my larger students who are north of 250lbs.
So, give it a try the next time you need to create some space when fighting off a tight guard pass during your Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training sessions.
