Here is an effective drill to teach and reinforce the skills of rolling an opponent into a Kata Ha Jime (Single Wing Strangle) and to finish the roll with the attacker on the buttocks and bearing the weight of the defender’s body. This enables the attacker to tighten the strangle better and to have the mobility at the finish of the move to switch to Juji Gatame if he wishes or needs to.
