Doing jiu jitsu by yourself isn’t any fun, so if you want people to train with, it’s important that you always keep both you and your training partner’s safety in mind.⠀

So, with that being said, there is never a reason to slam your training partners in the gym.⠀

In addition, as @andrisbrunovskis points out, while there are certain scenarios where you would want to stand up, if you don’t feel like you have the strength to support your partner’s body weight for an extended period of time, then you should probably just avoid picking them up all together. ⠀
