If boxing is so easy then just go do it. Oh, i forgot…boxing is scary shit. I know because I went from point fighting to becoming a Golden Glove Champion. It's a hard sport. yes, I can leg kick the guy and kick to the groin…but wait…so can he. Most boxer are poor and lived in the Prison system. Most BJJ, MMA fighters etc are college boys and never went to prison. Who is really tested in the streets. I beat grapplers by striking their eyes with open hands. Just like the accidental eye pokes and groin kicks you see stop fights in MMA. That's what you're forgetting. many of those old school challenges were still gentlemen like. Meaning that the karate guy fought with a closed fist.

Jiu-Jitsu can kill you, but to say that's it sole purpose is untrue. Jiu-Jitsu translates roughly into the "way of gentleness." It allows you to choose the level of damage you want to inflict. Also, disabling an opponent through joint locks goes beyond just hurting them. It's the freedom to tap out, and tap out others in training that makes Jiu-Jitsu so effective.
