Cautionary Tale in BJJ: Beware of This Question Before a Roll

Cautionary Tale in BJJ: Beware of This Question Before a Roll

Today I wanted to discuss a situation everyone, well most people, in Jiu-Jitsu have experienced.

If you have NOT experienced it yet, you definitely will!

This situation occurs from the “let’s go light” guy.

This person will occasionally lurk in your gym, open mats, or whatever, and they will deceive you.

Essentially, this person will ask you to roll with some stipulations. They’ll either say they just competed, they’re hurt, just got back from a vacation, etc. And this means they want a light roll.

BUT…

When the roll starts, they’re anything BUT light. You assume the training will be a flow, technical exchange, and anything but a hard round, but it turns into a mat war.

I’ll talk about this common bamboozlement, and how I deal with them. I’ll also share some of your experiences as viewers that sent them in.

Hopefully, you found this video helpful. IF you have also had a “let’s go light roll”, please comment down below and let me know your experience.

Thanks for watching.
