Fake flower sweep > Omoplata.

This is an interesting trap from a ‘fake’ flower sweep. I grab the “wrong” hand when I’m going for the sweep. He is able to post with his free hand in the direction of the sweep, leaving a space for my leg to pass and secure the Omoplata. The position I land in the Omoplata forces me to work differently with my hips and grips, not like a conventional Omoplata.

If you are new to the de la riva guard this may be a great option for you to start with! It is a very simple sweep that works. As long as you are cutting the angle right you can hit this sweep today.
Just be sure to hit this as soon as they stand up as it makes it easier to land. Have fun sweeping everyone!
