This video I go through my basic foundation for understanding the De La Riva Guard. This guard is critically important because it is one of the easiest grips to achieve and can transition to so many different attacks and positions. I first discuss the importance of the dlr hook and how it can be switched for string knee pressure. Then I go in to discussing the possible options you have depending on each grip you can establish.
