#ufcsp #jiujitsu #ufcvideos #submission #serginhomoraes

“Technique Sunday” is here, this time sharing with you important details from side control.
Details that I have pieced together throughout the years and has served me well in competition.
This video is specially important for white and blue belts since it aims to teach beginners how to think and use one of jiujitsu most important positions of control.
Don’t forget to subscribe to Cyborg TV for more content every week.

@rjbjj just gave Roberto Jimenez a taste of the brown belt division. Best match of the event so far!
As promised, gi version of the guard recovery technique from bottom half guard, when the top pressure is strong and you don’t have the underhook.
.
This gi version is more effective. Why?
Because the pull is much stronger from the belt. You are pulling him from the hip, not from the armpit, it greatly helps to shift his weight from his legs (making it easier to lift).
Notice the pressure with the elbow on his shoulder, it is very powerful and helps shift his weight and make him stay there too.
The other arm grabs the pants. It makes the lift more powerful AND it prevents him from attempting any jumping escapes.
.
Thanks again for @tomdeblass for the inspiration for these techniques. .
