This video was inspired by some concepts I gathered by watching Malachy Friedman’s work on what he refers to as The HeisenGuard. This guard configuration adds a lot of leverage to some bilateral set-ups for sweeps and submissions.

There are lots of options and opportunities, and in this video, with the help of Jared Jessup, I show the main entry to Omoplata, a back take option, a truck entry and a sweep to mounted triangle.

As a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, one of the most important skills to master is the ability to enter into (or break out of) a clinch – especially against a striker.
But, it does you no good if you don’t know how to maintain the clinch, fight from the clinch or takedown from the clinch.
