In Catch Wrestling, they call this position the Sugar Hold, and it’s an absolutely amazing place to posture up and throw fight finishing strikes in an MMA fight.
But in the context of pure grappling it’s a great position, too because it opens up a whole new path of creativity.
Pay attention to the details here and make sure you get the placement of your hand correct as well as the footwork. Otherwise, you’re gonna struggle and do the whole “this move doesn’t work for me” thing. Nonsense. You just need a better understanding. As with most things.

Arm Triangles are powerful submission tools to have in your arsenal; likewise, having solid escapes from arm triangles is extremely important. In this video, I show some strategies for escaping the arm triangle depending on the energy and intention of your opponent.
