Do you use angle changes to open up your opponent to make throwing them easier or do you just go for the big Ippon?

in this video I explain something that helped me a lot to improve my understanding and approach when passing.
there are basically two different styles of guard players: flexible, that allows you to get to dominant positions (rely on their flexibility and allow you to get far into dominant grips and positions) and the explosive style that normally use short and strong moves, normally counter attacking every pass attempt with a form of single leg or submission. There are multiple different levels for both and they can both be very efficient at any level. When passing I like the idea of forcing the guard player to play the opposite style, the one they are not comfortable. It normally opens up more gaps and create wrong reactions that will lead to your pass or any opportunity to attack the scramble.
