I talk all the time about using a stability ball to develop movement for BJJ. One of the best tools to supplement your training. This is a clip of a 6 minute constant flow I did last week. Although I’m not using every movement here, I have 50+ movements I’ve worked on over the years, that have made a huge difference in how I move on the mats. I’m thinking about putting together a paid video series in 2019, if it’s something people want to see.

Another variation for developing single arm pulling strength. A big mistake people can make with pull-ups is that they limit their ability to develop strength, by going into too high a rep range. Yes, you can add weight. But I prefer making the exercise more difficult to continue developing strength. If you can’t do a one arm pull-up (I can’t!) then IMHO you still have a long way to go in terms of developing upper body pulling strength through pull-ups.

Get A Tighter Triangle Choke and More Flexibility With This Stretch
This stretch is a great 2 for 1 technique. You are addressing the tightness in the hips by stretching the piriformis muscle which will help with securing a tighter triangle choke and also incorporate a quick and dynamic hamstring stretch.
You are addressing multiple problem area with on easy sequence. You can use this as both a warm up or an after training cool down. The only difference is adjusting your hold times.
Here are my suggestions: Warm-Up: 5-10 reps of 5-10 second holds or Cool-Down: 3-5 reps of 30-60 second holds.

In fact, I find this works for more than the spine and is also fantastic for strengthening & lengthening the quads and hip flexors. May be coincidence, although it also seems to have helped some mild patella tendinitis I had in the left knee. Most likely because it isolated and addressed a slight weakness I had in the left quads, resulting in over working the tendon.

This lunge and rotation mobility sequence is a great technique to warm-up some of the problem areas that develop with jiu-jitsu. Adding some active and dynamic movement patterns will help warm-up the muscles, prime the tissue, and help in preventing injury. This is great as a 2 minute flow for a warm-up and cool-down.
