How Jiu Jitsu Saved My Life w/ Brandon Mccaghren, 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Eddie Bravo
If you are on the fence about starting BJJ, I hope you take a moment to watch this video. It’s hard for me to put into words exactly how huge of an impact Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has made on my life. Not only did I make tremendous physical changes, but it was a great boost to me socially, psychologically and emotionally.
I’ve been able to find a tribe of people who are all in pursuit of excellence, and for those who want to begin that journey we provide a great culture and atmosphere to flex your discipline muscle and start adding real, practical skill to your life.
Don’t just take my word for it, though: thousands of people have used Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to lose weight, get in shape, learn self-defense and generally change the direction of their lives for the better. Here’s a few outside links for those of you one the edge:

“The 3 days here is the most valuable thing I’ve ever done in my life. And that’s the honest truth.”
Baptism By Fire: Warrior Week – not the bmac show – Episode 13 – 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur
It’s hard for me to describe Warrior Week (technically, I believe it’s called Warrior Evolution. But I always say Warrior Week).
Truthfully, I’m of 2 minds when it comes down to it. Part of me loves it. It’s always good bonding with my guys and lots of fun and it’s an interesting look into how far a really dedicated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu player has separated himself from the standard human being, at least when it comes to physical altercation and dealing with stress.
But, it’s also kinda hard for me. Because the objective is to break these guys emotionally. That’s what they signed up for. That’s what I’ve been contracted to do. Everyone knows that coming in.
And breaking someone is hard. Because truthfully, you just don’t know how they are gonna respond to that. And it’s not necessarily fun to push someone past their limit. All of us have stuff going on inside that no one else knows or understands. And when pressed, that can get ugly if we aren’t emotionally prepared to deal with it. Luckily, the staff at Warrior Week is ultra good at what they do and they’re supporting these guys the rest of the week with really powerful counseling and support. The objective is to leave bigger and better than when you showed up. Break down to build up kind of thing.
And it works. These guys consistently tell us that it’s a life changing experience. And so we keep agreeing to do it. And it keeps producing results.
I hope yall enjoy this look inside Warrior Evolution. I’m interested to hear the responses lol. It happens here at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Decatur, Alabama. We get contracted to do it a couple of times each year.

Should Police Officers Train in Jiu Jitsu? – 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Huntsville Police Training
In this video, I want to introduce you to my friend and 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu student Jerry King. Jerry has been with the Huntsville Police Department in Huntsville, Alabama for many, many years and is a Lieutenant on the force there.
There is a ton of controversy surrounding Law Enforcement and Police Officers these days; much of it for good reason. But I thought it would be a great idea to highlight some of the real good guys out there serving the community and actively working to improve themselves and to get better at making sure they go home at the end of the night.
Not only is BJJ proven to be the most effective martial art on the planet, but it’s also perfect for a Police Officer who needs to subdue a person and control a situation without injuring or even striking the person.
With their training at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Huntsville, these LEO are setting an example of excellence and commitment to mastery of their craft that all officers would do well to emulate!
Personally, I’m incredibly thankful for these fine men who put themselves on the line every day for me and my family.

Should Police Officers Train in Jiu Jitsu? – 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Huntsville Police Training
TAMO JUNTO
