Lately, I’ve been playing around with an unorthodox position that combines the upper body control of the lazer guard with the lower body control of a half guard/shin on shin position with some interesting results.⠀
⠀
One of my favorite attacks from this weird position is a variation of the Giggler sweep, which is itself a weird sweep that I originally learned from @seanrobertsbjj and takes advantage of your opponent driving in with pressure when you have prematurely taken away their ability to base, resulting in an almost effortless sweep.⠀

Any seasoned grappler knows that passing a tough opponent’s guard is only half the battle. You also need to be able to stabilize the pass and secure the position, which can sometimes be a very hard thing to do.⠀
⠀
So I present to you a grip combination that, when secured, gives your opponent very little hope of being able to turn away from you OR into you and can quickly exhaust your opponent, all while you have to spend very little energy.⠀
