Bellevue Police Department Corporal John Nourse (38) lost his long battle with cancer on December 1, 2016. John dedicated his life to public service after graduating from college, first with the Marietta Fire Department for 5 years, then with the Bellevue Police Department for the next 10 years. He and his wife Tawna have three beautiful children, son Quincy, and twin daughters Johnny and Charly. Always fun training with my jiu-jitsu/law enforcement brother @supermanfoy. He stopped by the garage tonight and we went over some weapon retention (?unholstered) and then drilled some armlock/triangle transitions. Most importantly, he finally got to try my homemade açai bowl (@renergracie’s secret recipe?). A few moments from the @provinggroundssubmissiononly tournament last month, my last as a blue belt. I had 2 draws and 1 submission (foot lock) for 2nd place. It took about 6 years before I felt like I could be on the same level with other blue belts, and I anticipate purple to be even tougher/longer.
