Like many of us, Kiley has had her share of ups and downs in life, and her mom was looking for a positive active/community to help and support her. We connected her to @warriorstrengthtrainer and his gym and she completed her first week of jiu-jitsu last week. About twice a month I try to complete a bunch of #HIIT rounds in uniform (usually on my Friday towards the end of the shift so I can go home and wash everything afterwards). I want to experience how the weight of the gear affects my ability to move in training. Torso flexion is impeded a lot, and torso rotation to deliver strikes is harder too. By the third round you can really feel the extra weight adding up, but better to know in training that to find out when it’s real. 1) #battleropes 2) #kettlebell swings 3) #jiujitsu transitions on the motion master 4) low kicks 5) move/draw, dry fire, move/speed reload, dry fire, move. I got a chance to hold mitts for @ccarlos.f2 and @facundo_salinas_ at @ring_sports_united. They were very patient with me and taught me a simple combination. She was assaulted from behind while washing her hands by a convicted sex offender but fought off the attack and attempted rape.
