Carri is one of our new hires and is currently in the academy at the WA State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Prior to joining our department she worked full time as a CPA. Unlike some CPA’s, Carri also brought an exceptional level of #fitness and conditioning with her years of accounting. She recently displayed her commitment to fitness at the Physical Abilities Test (PAT) during the push-ups portion of the test. 30 push-ups is the minimum requirement for applicants, and rumor has it that Carri had to be stopped after completing her 100th repetition. We were very fortunate to have @nateorch10p stop by our station and share his take on the #kotegaeshi. The “wrist twist” has roots in #aikido and several other #martialarts, and Nathan demonstrated the leverage based technique with officer @larryperreira as his uke. Ofc. Perreira is a Jiu-Jitsu purple belt with more than 22 years of law enforcement experience (SWAT, FTO, bikes) with two different agencies. He is currently working in our training unit and instructs our new and experienced officers in all things #firearms and #defensivetactics. The self defense class is a free class offered by our department and the city to youth in our community. @dylan_2na stopped again but forgot his ?.
