A point match when Gordon's success has mostly come from leglocks in sub only tournaments. Hmm…I wonder why he lost…But really, he does depend on them too much with no other real threat to his opponents so of course if that's all he attacks with then it's easy for his opponents to spend all their effort preemptively defending leg locks. This didn't magically prove leg locks don't work, only that they can be defended against if that's all your opponent throws your way.

so do not try this method with the lockdown, you will tear your acl
A Banyan says
can you talk about the placement the foot, seems very important and is usually not visible

That’s really interesting I hope Pena or magles have another rematch with him so we can see how the dds try to re-counter the escapes, or if they just come out with a different game plan.
Augusto Loa says
Ho would imagine that the strenght of a leglock was in the feets and not in the hands. So good.

Do you think shooting for ashi or double outside ash would have been more effective? (since Gordon was countered the same in both fights) I would like to see Felipe Pena vs Gordon now after he has won ibjjf and and impressive performance at quintet 3 submitting all of his opponents

Great video! Just listened to john danaher to on his explanation of why his leglock system works (eddie cummings system), i wonder how he would counter this, clearly losing 3 times to it he has not.
Ronnie Walker says
I defend by tapping twice. My opponent always let’s go

This is hilarious inna way: it’s like learning the secret weapon on how to defeat the worlds greatest enemy’s ?? but very informative. As a leg locker myself, I dig this video. Very cool. I know i’ll still be leg locking mofo’s though.

I figured out this amazing defense to all submissions ever! If you just tap your hands on your opponents bodies, they automatically release the hold! This little trick helped me get out of hundreds of submission attempts

Great video!

I defend leg locks by giving my opponent 2 taps to his butt and he lets go immediately. Most effective leg lock defense ever.

Lol this music got me pumped!

I use Many ways depending of the move, sometimes go deep straight or turn or get hand fight to put the swim and lock one hand

You know it's funny, they say Gordon is a jerk. Pena seems more of a creep. To my knowledge Gordon never "hit a man when he's down". Perhaps we should get over celebrating a champion's defeat and start giving a critical eye to a cocky upstart.

Keenan Cornelius has a good heel hook defense instructional.
