Sometimes tripod. Or sometimes with hip flush to the mat like Marcelo. Definitely try to not to stay on the knees though. Thanks +BJJSCOUT

+BJJSCOUT What do you think are the pros and cons of this style of over/under vs. the torreando that you showed in the video?
jrdking1 says
Ever since part 1 I've been playing around with it. It is effective and has helped me alot but it is simply exhausting! Alot of energy is required on the entry as the opponents drops hips/legs, hooks, and scoot with shoulders to avoid the tripod stack. Thank you for part 2.

Thank you so much for doing these Murilo Santana Pressure Pass Studies. I thought I was retarded for passing in a similar manner. It is inspiring to watch someone at a high level utilize this pass and I can one day mimic it.

High Quality vid, as usual. Tx

Great Videos! I do tripod with the over under. Someone else who uses it well is Bernardo Faria. Please do a breakdown of his deep half techniques when you can. Later!!!

Отличные видео ! респект !
tonkachow says
Turning to turtle 'Telles style from the Half Guard' will counter his abililty to progress higher, some call it the wrestlers switch I think. You just gotta be good from turtle with the Knee Grip. The second you can't turn your flat and done for. Buchecha does this alot when he feels like someone may advance to a good pressure position on top.

even after training for more than nine years, these two studies have completely revolutionized my guard passing game – very grateful for your work!
Tudor Mihaita says
King of over/under is Bernardo Faria. He passes only like this. Never, and I mean NEVERE, changes to something else. I told you before you should analyze his game. Most interesting half guard in modern jj.
Great video as always!
A.J. Polder says
I've been passing very much like this for a long time. However, the "boxing in" of the leg to avoid the triangle is gold! That has been my Kryptonite.
Haithamov Hy says
With Tripod you can pressurize him and also it gives you mobility to move around to combine other pass variants , amazing video thank you

Your videos are the best. Better then any instructional on the market

Scout, do you know what Murilo usually does when somebody successfully gets to the Double Bicep ride? What are the options there for the passer? Also, how does Murilo usually engage the stack and get to double underhooks in the first place? Thanks Scout, I've watched these Murilo videos about 10 times now this weekend.
Jooyoung Lee, PhD says
beautiful guard passing. Murilo's constant pressure is amazing.

@BJJSCOUT, there's a third part mentioned. I can't seem to locate it on your channel

This is a really really superb breakdown. I'm a blue belt who just discovered that the over under pass suits my physique really well and I can pass higher level players with it. Your insights are very very interesting and I am grateful for you taking the time to post this

I'm a white belt training in Japan, your videos have helped me so much a about the bigger picture of differing game styles and has helped improve my defense greatly. I'm truly grateful to have found your channel. Massive fan here.
I'm not quick, so these Murilo vids have helped my passing a lot. Giving the purple belts pause for thought when they play guard now.
Andrew Johnson says
with a head down/head first posture, how does this stack up against guys that hunt for the guillotine?
TranslatorsTroubles says
"Do you tripod when you over under pass?" I do now.
Justin Holmes says
This channel is awesome.

Anthony Soto says
I over/under pass often, and while I am a 3 stripe blue belt, the position if an opponent traps your guard has helped me immensely. Now I'm keeping constant smashing pressure as I am in the unfair half guard position. One complaint, I demand you put out more videos! Haha, thank you for everything.

Been trying this for a couple months… it's really ecfective…and every time I go back here to watch the video I pick up a detail that helps make the passing better
juano c says
now I do!
MrSupertwo says
I don't tripod doing the over under pass. I wrap my arm under the pinned leg to pin the leg and the hip.
MrSupertwo says
Great video. I find tripoding in the over-under pass tricky. All too often the guy on bottom can sweep you. I think I'm lacking the downward pressure of the pass. I will keep trying…
