In a pure, modern sport jiu jitsu, it´s Marcelo all the way. Back in Ricksons era, bjj was made for real fighting. It was meant to be good in MMA, Vale Tudo, 1v1 streetfights etc. So the style of grappling is also different and how you train. There´s lots of evolvement in bjj, but lots of it is only useful strictly in a sport bjj world.
