I think EBI had to change the format because the original EBI was dominated by DDS. Having an IBJJF big name means nothing in the EBI rule set, the big name IBJJF guys are not going to enter EBI the rule set doesn't favor them so they stay away. IBJJF pays shit money so its not the money.
