BJJ Coach Getting Worse While His Students Keep Improving

BJJ Coach Getting Worse While His Students Keep Improving

Today we have a question from Joe, a new Black Belt, who has owned a gym and been coaching BJJ for 2 years.

He says that in the years he’s owned the gym, his Brazilian Jiu-jitsu students have improved by leaps and bounds, which he’s super happy about, business is going good too…

But…

He says that he feels like his own technical progress has slowed down because he’s putting such an emphasis on his students, the school, and the business side of things.

He wants to know how he can continue to make progress in his own BJJ while simultaneously providing high quality instruction.

This is a pretty common and tough issue that BJJ Black Belts, or Gym Owners in Jiu-Jitsu, face.

In this video I’ll tell you guys about how I balance the work/coach side of things at the gym a while simultaneously focusing own progress in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

If you’re running into a similar issue, I hope that you found these ideas useful for you.
