At the end of last year I began helping out with recruiting for our department. Back when we had almost two dozen vacancies I remember being on patrol explaining our staffing dilemma to a bunch of kids in the area. I said “You guys, how are we going to get people to consider working for us?… What can I do?” And one of the kids who was probably around 9 told me: “Just show people how cool your job is.” I try to keep that in mind with every photo or video that I share. Thank goodness we have some incredible people in the right positions to showcase just how cool it can be. We are projected to be as close to full staffing as we have ever been for at least the past 10 years and we will keep going. Our entry level hiring portal is projected to reopen in the fall, so be ready ??⚫️?⚫️??
