…I’ve found it a great way to force myself to keep good posture while doing a deep bodyweight squat. I’ve had to work hard on this mobility (still need to improve) and I see many people bend too far forward to compensate for poor mobility. Getting into a good deep bodyweight squat, toes pointed almost dead straight should be a goal for anyone doing BJJ and wanting to have strong and mobile hips. Placing the stick touching your nose and forehead and keeping it as upright as possible, I’ve found to be a great tool for helping maintain good posture while going deep on the squat. Give it a go!
