  8. LOCK YOUR FREAKING DOORS! NO WAY would I let myself be pulled out of my car and beaten because I left the stupid door unlocked. Also, please remember that your car is a 4000 lb. HIGHLY MOBILE WEAPON. This guy could have easily reversed out of this without even getting a scratch. Going forward is, I think, another option in this case with weapons clearly visible. I spend a lot of time in and out of a car and locking your doors is, by far, the #1 most important thing you can do to protect yourself. With unlocked doors you are choosing to drive around in a rolling "transitional space" (using John's terminology).

As soon as I saw those two getting out of their car with a baseball bat that is when I would start to take action to protect myself and I would have drove straight through them and take the open car door off its hinges, and then let them explain what happened to the cops and their insurance company, no way would I have waited to see what they were going to do unless I was armed with a firearm.

  15. “…and MAY BE preventable”? No, OBVIOUSLY preventable. When those 2 perps got out of their car, leaving their doors open, you take off, smash the car door off on the way by, and leave them with an inoperable vehicle.
