I will post some more escapes from this position soon. But this is one escape that one of my purple belts would hit all the time.
For this to work you have to catch your opponents up really high in your armpit. It prevents the person from back-stepping as well because you can go right over top of it. Really their only option at this point is to try and get you to turtle where you should come up to a single leg takedown if they mange to turn their hips out.(Note: my bottom hand is blocking to try and stop the turtle or moving to another position)
Now if they hunker down on you and go lower to your hips than you would switch to a stiff arm escape. They go together really well just like the shoulder roll escape to the under-hook I’ve shown in previous videos. But I wanted to start with this and than put another video out later to give options off of this technique.
