In high-level stand-up grappling, many times the strategic pursuit of takedowns becomes similar to the game of chess. One must be able to anticipate a few movements ahead to be able to have success. Here, I utilize a “switch“ faking making my opponent believe I’m attacking with a forward throw when really I know his reaction and I sneak behind him to take him down backwards.
