Thank you so much for the studies they have helped me to identify my lack of knowledge in chaining passes together successfully keep up the good work

Really good scout. What of the guard player underhooks the legs with his legs stopping the stack?
larsonclose says
Awesome! Maybe the stack is being put aside because it's not the new craze like the leg drag. The stack isn't the only "big guy" pass, they all are! Lol
Daniel W says
I'm a big fan of Murilo's passes and his personality. He won so many great fights and have never seen him glorify that fact. He just trains and doesnt talk. About this film, Thank You for sharing Your knowledge! Once I had a chance to roll with Abmar Barbosa & I asked him about Murilos passes. He said that for Murilo the most important is head put very high, close to opponents sholder (like You mentioned here) and elbow pushing the tie. It is a very hard pass.
Greg Melita says
I believe stack passes will come back full circle. To avoid full guard, Bjj has evolved to combat base, which evolved to DLR to counter that, which evolved to the double guard pull berimbolo game. Get rid of the lead leg being attacked, stop the guarders games. Enter the stack passes! Nice job on the vid. Visit my blog at meljitsu.blogspot.com thanks !

amazing , thank you

I have long been a fan of stacking passes. I have also been been working hard on my Leg Drag passes. This gives me some ideas on how I might be able to integrate the two into a cohesive passing game. Thanks for another great video.

Wow, this video and the one before it on the bicep ride are fucking huge. Sums up so many things ive had floating around in my head. I think the biggest concept that can be taken from this video is this: DON'T LET THE GUARD PLAYER DICTATE WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO PASS FROM, YOU TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND YOU DECIDE WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO PASS FROM. DON'T BE IN A CONSTANT STATE OF REACTING TO YOUR OPPONENT, MAKE YOUR OPPONENT BE IN A CONSTANT STATE OF REACTING TO YOU!! If you understand this concept, you don't have to know every pass from every little guard variation in order to be successful, you just have to know how to get to your staging point (ie. the bicep ride) and then pass from there. The bicep ride is a great staging point to use too because to how readily available it is. I think we should start thinking about staging point positions like the Bicep Ride as the guard positions of the top game. "Ride" is to top position as "Guard" is to bottom position. I think if we can take a step back and start thinking along these lines, the guard position will start to swing from a more neutral position, to a more advantageous position for the top game player. I think there has been a lot of work done fleshing out the bottom position in Jiu-Jitsu, but there is a still so much work to be done on the top position.

The big detail off any pass is to always push the legs to the shoulders of your opponent, if you look at roger gracies fights are kinda like this, he's always putting pression in the legs and hips of his opponents
Isaiah Hubert says
Gorgeous. I stack pass quite often and these are some great concepts you've presented. I will be looking to develop them.
Dany Sorce says
so sick man thanks for this I love your details!
edmund kim says
Roger has a very similar game, I notice that there is an absence of his presence in your videos. Is this because of Dan? -___-

Another slam dunk. Thanks a bunch BJJSCOUT… Although I have to disagree with you about Keenan taking Mundials. After seeing the brackets, if he closes his side out he faces Santana to get into semis..I'm sure Keenan will beat him, again, and medal, I just don't think it will be gold. Can't wait to watch the matches…
respeezy says
Amazing vid!

As weird as it sounds this video made my passing better immediately, thank you sir. I've always liked stack passing but this really opened my eyes to new options. YOUR CHANNEL ROCKS TOO HARD!

Damn man in my club here in France everyboy is talking about your video!
bjjbebo says
I was highly encouraged by Michael Jen to use this pass, then once at a seminar with Joe Moreira he gave us some awesome insight on this pass and how it works from all angles, my favorite pass…here Joe demonstrates, but from his knees…learning the foundation opens up Pandoras box to guard passes… Adilson souza X Joe Moreira
Daniel W says
Two things: 1) Where in the hell is part two? 😉 2) Murilos work with shoulders, hips, pressure during tripod position (like with Keenan fight on PanAms 2014) is insane. The only problem with this kind of pass is that it is hard to apply for light guys against heavier opponents ;(
Matt F says
You are one of my most important coaches scout. Thanks.
Stephen Lancaster says
Hi Scout, love the tunes on this one! What is the name of the second song?
Orlando Alonso says
When is part two coming out??? I can't wait!
cv0669 says
Still having an issue connecting the Murilo double unders position to the over/under need to work it more
Levi Xanadu jones-leary says
so sick
Robert Johansson says
I have problem sometimes with the "deep" cross grip that I give away coming in head first. Isn't this a problem for Murilo?
Matthew de Groot says
Hey I have a question about kimuras. Is it not possible for the guarder to play kimura on that exposed arm only because of the stack? Is there something Im missing because I experience the kimura here, but it could be due to poor stacking posture?
Joseph DeMeo says
Anyone know the name of the song in this video? Amazing video btw!
bjjtapes says
Pressure game seems to be lost these days. Doesn't make bjj fun to watch. Nice vid. Because of the DLR and double sleeve guards, the passing has been more acrobatic. Look like to counter the head down pass is to have one hand in collar to threaten a choke which almost no one does these days. When is the last time you saw someone choked from the guard?
cv0669 says
hey can anyone tell me the match at 6:14 – what event? – where I can find it?
Pj Denholm says
I'm definitely going to get my sensei to help me work on this. White belts need love too.
1incandescent says
Anyone know the rap song that comes on at around 5 mins?
chazbrown0 says
Awesome tutorial! How would you modify this for no-gi?
Grappling Spirit says
Thank you BJJ Scout ??
cv0669 says
where can I find the match at 5:45 looks like the 2014 pan ams can't find this dvd or video anywhere
matthew reed says
Some of us older bjj fighters need to use the control double under smash provides, along with leg weaves to keep these squirrely youngsters in place
Bunny Azorth says
you said soon but it has been three years since the second video.
brandon schwinck says
The MOST effective Jiujitsu technique ive ever learned is inspired by Murilo's Stack-pass and my own raw tenacity…
Luke Hoskovec says
That's so funny.. the video is like "watch Robson Moura do this pass." I watch it and I'm like, wut? Your videos are eye opening. Thank you for making them!
impolitikful says
No arm triangle counter?
PendleHill Billies says
Guys this is a sincere question, if you can pressure stack an opponent inside their guard like at 3:10, why would you even want to pass their guard, you could easily sub an opponent from that position?
BuickV says
Man I wish I could find such a great video for over-under in No-Gi
tookurjaerbs says
That pass at 6:57 is the shit
