“The greatest critic lives inside your mind, and often, that’s the one you must silence to succeed.”
One of the beauties of Jiu-Jitsu is that no matter how long you’ve been training, every tournament is an opportunity to learn. When reevaluating your performance, it’s crucial to ask yourself two critical questions across four areas: technical, physical, strategic, and mental.
1. What did you do right during training and competition?
2. What would you have done differently in the same situation? Again, consider both training and competition.
I’m content with some of the things I did and frustrated with others, but that’s okay. This balance pushes us to improve.
What about you? Do you reevaluate your performances in all four areas?
Thank John Fernandez for recording the match.
